Guiyang China has a long history

Guiyang which is the capital of the Guizhou province of China is a developing tourist city with great plateau scenery and many ethnic groups. It is the political, economical, and cultural center of Guizhou and a transportation hub in the Southwest of China. Guiyang China is an ancient alpine city built 1071 meters above sea level. Guiyang is the capital of the Guizhou providence located at an elevation of 3,000 feet in the very center of the southwest providence. It is dominated by mist covered hills that surround the Wujiang Valley. Here the natural resources are rich and the energy resources are abundant, enjoying an exceptional environmental advantage. Guiyang-Yuizhou, Chongquaig- Guiyang, Guiyang-Kunming, and ZhuZhou-Guiyang railways all start in Guiyang China which is compared to Guilian China and is known as the Second Spring City. Guiyang has a subtropical and moist climate which is warm in the winter and is cool in the summer with an average annual temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius. Wax printing is a traditional Chinese folk printing craft and is still popular among Buyi, Maoi, and Yao nationalities living in Guiyang today. The traditional handmade wax paintings are more valuable than modern machine made. And, this makes them popular souvenirs for tourists.

While you are in Guiyang, you can take either a four day or seven day tour packages to see Huaangguoshu waterfall which is the third largesse waterfall in the world and to explore the unique ethnic customs and exotic flavors. Huaangguoshu waterfall is a three hour journey west from Guiyang. It is one of the biggest waterfalls in China at 316 feet high and 346 feet wide. Water pours down a cliff into the Xiniu Pool. Sunlight is diffracted through the drops of water producing a glorious rainbow. There is a natural cave behind the waterfall that is 131 feet above Xiniu Pool. Standing inside and watching the water pouring down is an unforgettable sight. Around the Huangguoshu there are 30 karst caves and 18 smaller falls.

Guiyang has many tourist resources like good food, market shopping areas that are lively, and good sight around the town. There are dishes prepared in the distinctive Guizhou style never fails to hold Chinese people and visitors entranced.
