Great cruise west experience on small shipsIf you imagine cruising as traveling on a big vessel with many passengers aboard, wonderful amenities and entertainments, such as bingo, floor shows or a casino, - this is not the right idea of a real Cruise West experience.
The Cruise West vessels are small ships, which make it possible to get to narrow channels, placid bays and hidden coves. Passengers can see exciting wildlife, scenery and port towns in details and feel themselves not only visitors, but participants of a kind of expedition. Kayaking, hiking or enjoying a spectacular sight of fur seals and otters lying on a beach, you are involved in exciting events that the nature itself causes.
If the vessels of other cruise lines are distinguished by their décor and artificial glamour, the Cruise West ships feature a very casual and friendly atmosphere. You should not worry about your looks and you may leave all your evening dresses at home. The ships accommodate from fifty-two to hundred and fourteen passengers - no wonder in a couple of days they are on a first-name basis with each other. Movie nights, fashion shows with the guests putting on fantastic clothes from the ships' sores and listening to the breathtaking stories of the onboard Exploration Leader during lectures and excursions unite them in one family. For even a more enriching experience a library is provided onboard each ship.
The friendly and obliging staff is always ready to help you and answer all your questions. There are excellent cooks who prepare wonderful meals and delicious desserts.
Outdoor activities stimulate the appetite and the company provides for it. Comfortable and cozy public rooms will create a home-away-from-home atmosphere during your Cruise West experience. Each one contains a lounge, a library and a dining room. An American-oriented cuisine is served, and sometimes, a local touch is added. All the tables are not assigned, thus, you can seat there with your companies every day.
As you are not supposed to spend much time in your cabins, they are rather small, but still have enough space for your clothes and other necessary personal belongings. All of them have private bathrooms; suite and deluxe cabins even have a TV and VCR - if the weather is bad, your Cruise West experience will not be spoiled and you will spend the time as if sitting on a sofa in a warm room at home. At least on the ships Spirit of 98 and Spirit of Endeavor it is guaranteed - all the cabins there have a TV and VCR.
The Cruise West fleet is made up of seven small ships: Spirit of 98, Spirit of Endeavor, Spirit of Alaska, Spirit of Columbia, Pacific Explorer, Sheltered Seas and spirit of Oceanus. All of them are capable of navigating shallow rivers and sailing up narrow waterways inaccessible to larger ships. The first two vessels are considered to have better equipped cabins and grander public rooms, nevertheless, the other five also have more than adequate conditions for accommodation, relaxation and the entertainments that are included in the program.
