You've been working hard for almost a year. You set yourself high goals and achieved them. Your boss is pleased with your job, your ambitions are satisfied and your salary is much higher than that of your friends and acquaintances.
It's high time to pamper yourself because none will do it better than you. And here it is, the moment you've been looking forward to - you are going on holiday! But all is well that ends well. Holiday planning is a challenge which needs as much preparations as the most difficult task you have ever come across.
Before emptying all the shelves and boxes into them, answer the main question: What exactly are you going to need during your holiday and what are you taking with you? I'm not talking about your passport and other important papers such as ticket, information about your tour operator,i nsurance, etc as it goes without saying. But how often we find ourselves in a situation when we wish we took some simple but necessary things which we miss during holiday.
One of them is a First Aid Pad with remedies for headache, stomachache, plasters and those of the kind. I'm not trying to say that one must definitely fall ill when travelling. But taking into account the difference of climate, change of your everyday lifestyle and various unexpected situations you can not always foresee I should say it will be rather wise to take care you have got all this medicine with you. Anyway, it won't make your travel cases much heavier. It can also save your money as you should remember that even a slight injury may cost you a lot you have no medical insurance cover. Of course you can rely on luck that friendly non resident travel organizers find the cheapest doctor for you and settle everything at a lowest price. But I haven't heard about such cases yet. And I'm sure you'd rather spend this money on something more pleasant. For example on buying an antique vase for your mother's house. Believe me, you will never forgive yourself spending $$$ on aspirin which you certainly got at home but didn't even think of taking.
Here we come to the second point. Take care you have enough money and(or) your international credit cards with you. Imagine there is an exclusive order to visit a very rare exhibition or you come across the dress of your dream in a shop window. Experience shows that such temptetions are awaiting you almost round each corner. And you don't have to resist them while on holiday. Remember - you deserved it. Follow my advice and you will never regret the opportunity you missed just because you didn't take enough money with you.
Another important thing is to collect all information available about the country(s) you are planning to go to. All information about the climate, currency, prices, traditional holidays, sales seasons, etc. can be easily found in Internet or travel magazines nowadays. This knowledge is quite important and may save some space in your travel cases as well as make your holiday more pleasant and remarkable. Just think of the opportunity to go to England when there's going to be a football championship or visit Rio just when the carnival is at it's height or find yourself in Spain during it's traditional sales weeks. You journey will definitely become thousand times more valuable and you will remember it till the next one comes.
Now that you've packed all necessary stuff you are going to take with you, it's time to choose the travel case itself. Take the one which is not too huge but spacious at the same time with many compartments for various items. I'm sure there is a good choice of such travel cases at the nearest department store as travelling becomes more and more popular nowadays.
Another useful tip is to enter your name, address and contact information on a special label provided with the travel cases which will save your time and make it much easier for you or an airport courier to find your luggage.
Well, your luggage is carefully packed and off you go! And we hope that your holiday will leave an unforgettable and pleasant impression on you. And that mainly depends on the right choice of the travel agency. But it is the topic of our next article.
