Fun Awaits You And Your Family At Adventureland ParkDesigned to resemble the remote places in Asia, Africa, South America, the Middle East and the South Pacific, Adventureland is seen as one of the themed lands, found in many Magic Kingdom parks around the world, run by the Walt Disney Company. The most visited, and famous, Adventureland Park is the Magic Kingdom, located in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
You won't find any table service restaurants here, except for El Pirata, serving tacos, taco salads, hot dogs, and nachos. For cool refreshments consider the Aloha Island, with its fabulous pineapple Dole Whips, and the Sunshine Tree Terrace, offering citrus swirls, frozen yogurt, floats, espresso, and cappuccino.
The Adventureland Park at the Magic Kingdom is divided into two major areas: the Arabian Village and Caribbean Plaza. The latter features a great number of attractions that distinguish it from others, including Pirates of the Caribbean, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and the Enchanted Tiki Room.
Recognized as one of the most visited attractions at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Adventureland Parks, Pirates of the Caribbean opened in March 1967, being the last attraction involving Walt Disney in its design. As the guests enjoy the indoor ride, they can experience the pirate adventures, complete with cannon blasts, gunshots, fire, and explosions. While the attraction Pirates of the Caribbean is an original to both Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, having opened with the parks' opening days, it was never intended to be a part of the Magic Kingdom, and was introduced more than two years after the resort was opened, following the guests' demand.
Among other attractions of the area are the Jungle Cruise and Swiss Family Treehouse.
In addition to Disney's parks and attractions, the United States boasts a number of Adventurelands, each located in major cities. The most prominent of these is Adventureland NY.
Introduced in April 1992, the Adventureland Park at Disneyland Paris is designed in a more Asian style, marked by heavy Indian influences. Possibly because the Disney's Aladdin was in production during the construction of Disneyland, it had inspired the park's designers. Prominent attractions of the Adventureland include Adventure Isle, Indiana Jones at le Temple du Peril, La Cabane des Robinson, and Le Passage Enchante d'Aladdin, in addition to the popular Pirates of the Caribbean.
In the heart of Adventureland you'll find Adventure Isle, full of great discoveries. In fact, it is comprised of two small islands that are linked to the Adventureland's mainland via numerous bridges. Once on Adventure Isle, you'll have a chance to explore its areas and treasures, including Skull Rock, Le Ventre de la Terre, L'ile au Tresor, and more.
Hiding in the deepest jungles of the park, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is a high-speed roller coaster with numerous drops and turns, which guests can experience. The pathways surrounding the temple are of particular interest to visitors due to the archaeologists' camp nestled here. During the period of 1999-2000, some major changes were introduced to the ride, including the capacity increase by nearly 50 percent for each train, and an additional extra train. However, the most significant changes are connected with the reversal of ride cars, now running the entire ride backwards.
