"Kfc chicken" is an abbreviated form for Kentucky Fried Chicken, a fast food company founded in Corbin, Kentucky in 1939. The enterprise was established by Colonel Harland Sanders, who gave the world a taste of Original Recipe Kentucky Fried Chicken. In 1991 the company adopted its abbreviated form - "Kfc" - to avoid the unhealthy implication of the word "fried".

Today KFC is considered to be one of the most successful fast food enterprises worldwide. The restaurant chain is famous for its chicken, the original recipe of which is kept a secret.
