As of 2005, Hardee's operated 1,894 restaurants in 31 states of the United States of America. There are also about 100 restaurants in the countries that make up the Middle East.

Hardee's is a fast food restaurant chain, which operates mostly in the Southeastern and Midwestern United States. It was founded by Wilbur Hardee. The first restaurant opened in 1960 in North Carolina. Hardee's grew and expanded rapidly by franchising other restaurant chains, such as Sandy's in 1972, Burger Chef in 1982, and Roy Rogers in 1990. In 1981, Hardee's was purchased by Imasco Limited and remained its subsidiary until 1997.
