The Fast Food Rockers are a British pop group, which was founded in 2002. It consists of three teenagers - Lucy, Ria and Martin, who see their mission in improving the world they live in. The group gained popularity after its enormous worldwide hit The Fast Food Song was released. The Fast Food Song was written by Sandy Rass and Mike Stock. It was a real sensation in the British Music Industry as it was the first release of an independent record label Better the Devil Records.
The origin of the song is difficult to trace. For decades the refrain was sung by children around the world, irrespective of the nationality and language. The song goes a little like this: "A Pizza Hut a Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut, McDonald's McDonald's, you like it you love it, you know you really want it. 100,000 copies of Fast Food Song were pre-ordered before the song was released. As soon as the discs with the song appeared in the shops, the seller had to order thousands more as the discs flew off the shelves in almost no time. The song is now number one in many British and American charts. Despite the fact that The British Dietetic Association has called the Fast Food Song irresponsible and unwelcome, the single is likely to be the summer soundtrack.
The Fast Food Rockers aim at promoting healthy food. During their tours they emphasize inevitability of healthy alternatives to fast food. There is also a section on healthy food on their web site, including various recipes of healthy nutritious meals. The Fast Food Rockers do not promote fast food, they try to show people, though in an unusual form, how unnutritious foods can affect their health. The group also expects that their appearances will be an example to keep to a healthy diet.
The problem is deeper than it seems to be at first sight. Protesting against fast food industry expansion, The Fast Food Rockers protest against the British culture, which they consider to be rubbish. They depict the world they live in emphasizing it is far from being perfect. The words of Henry David Thoreau "Our inventions are improved means to an unimproved end", somehow found their reflection in the Fast Food Rockers world outlook. It is something, which is true of the Stuffed Crust Pizza, the Big Mac and Chicken Strips.
The Government hasn't authorized raids no the households owning this single, in spite of the fact it can be influential in improving the nation's health.
The group's new single Say Cheese is considered to be optimistic and exciting. It is about catching smiles and happiness.
The Fast Food Rocker's audience is manifold - from the very young age, where you are able to pick up the tune to the people at a mature age, who are up for light hearted fun.
The Fast Food Rockers prove that fast food is not just a food. It is an element of the national culture and is seen as something powerful and influential, something, which we should care about, something, which can change our life to a great extent, for better or for worse. Fast food is a part of international language and is recognized worldwide.
