Experience Unrivalled Fishing at the Lawrence Bay Lodge

Added: 03/30/2006

Nestled along the shores of Reindeer Lake, one of the most prominent lakes of Saskatchewan, the resorts that sit on Lawrence Bay set new standards for the Canada northern pike fishing and fishing guides, as well as service and lodging accommodations. Considered by many to be a paradise for both beginners and experienced anglers, the resort offers some of the best northern pike, lake trout, walleye and arctic grayling fishing at Saskatchewan, Canada.

There is hardly any fishing experience that can be compared to Saskatchewan northern pike and walleye fishing on Reindeer Lake at Lawrence Bay Lodge. With the depth of nearly 100 feet, Reindeer Lake is home to trophy lake trout, huge northern pike and walleye. Visitors are offered wonderful fishing on Reindeer Lake, or as an alternative, they can hop in a plane and fly to one of the numerous day lakes, offering some of the best Saskatchewan's fishing.

The resort's float planes, Cree Indian fishing guides and fishing boats are first class, and all of its cabins are wonderfully equipped, with breakfast, lunch and dinner served. With its complete fishing guide and thoughtfully designed amenities, Lawrence Bay Lodge is a great experience for each visitor, offering you everything to make most of your Canada fishing vacation.

So what makes Lawrence Bay Lodge such a renowned fishing vacation destination? First and foremost, it is the resort's superb location that contributes to its immense popularity. Reindeer Lake is considered to be one of the most productive lakes in the area, since it drains a large part of northwest Manitoba and northeast Saskatchewan, which in turn, creates a much better food source for fish as compared to that at the majority of other lakes. Here you'll find deep waters and rocky points for the lake trout that gets up to 760 feet deep, as well as a large amount of islands with large wood flats and bays for big northern pike. An average size of the northern pike is 6-7 pounds and that of lake trout is about 7-8 pounds.

The equipment plays an equally important role, contributing to your successful fishing experience. For the visitors' additional comfort 40 horsepower Mercury motors and 18 deep transom boats have been added to the resort's facilities. All the boats have life jackets and seats with back rests. Also available are two floatplanes: a Cessna and a Beaver, both used for modern outpost camps to bring diversity to the main lodge. Among the equipment needed for a fishing trip to Lawrence Bay Resort is a medium heavy spinning rod equipped with 8-20lb line. Floating lures are productive as well, like the Heddon's and Rapala's. Such old standby spoons as Len Thompson and Daredevil work well for lake trout and big northern pike. Available at the lodge are license and tackle, as is the rain gear.

The accommodations at the resort, including Lawrence hotels and cabins are equipped with all modern amenities and cleaned daily for visitor's comfort. Each of the cabins is fully modern and has cold and hot running water, electricity, shower, flush toilets and heating stove. A typical day at the resort begins with the staff members delivering a cup of hot chocolate or coffee in your cabin. Breakfast is served at 7am at the main lodge, after which you are introduced to your guide and sent off for a wonderful day of fishing. A great morning of fishing is then accomplished by a tasty shore lunch, cooked by your guide. Once your afternoon fishing adventure is complete, you can return to your accommodations to relax and rest.

After the evening meal you are free to relax in the lounge and plan the next day of fishing or take a boat out by yourself.
