Started in 2003 by George Sarris, the Underground Comedy Festival is held annually in New York City. Today it features more than 350 comedians in over 100 events, including Sketch and Film, One Person Shows, and Improv. Because of these it is regarded as the largest comedy festival in the country. The increasing popularity of the festival has resulted in its expenditure to New Jersey.

Over the years, Brighton has been regarded by many as the cultural capital of the South, and also the home to many of England's art festivals and stars.
