Located conveniently within the Walt Disney World resort property in Lake Buena Vista, Blizzard Beach was the third water park to open within the resort, after Typhoon Lagoon and River Country. Its theme is the legend of the freak snowstorm of the area, which had led to the establishment of the first ski resort in Florida. A few years later, the ski resort was changed into a water park with the alligator, Ice Gator, as its symbol.

Being the only place in Florida where visitors can see snow everywhere, and enjoy ice in their soft drinks only, Blizzard Beach is the largest and newest water park within the Walt Disney World Resort, located in Orlando, Florida. Established originally as a ski resort, it was transformed into a water park, inviting everyone to shred the peaks and surf the slopes on such rides as Toboggan Racer, and enjoy other plentiful attractions.
