Carnival Liberty started it's first Mediterranean cruise July 20, 2005. It is the new resort ship. New Carnival Liberty houses 22 lounges and bars, including a sports bar, piano bar, wine bar, dance club, and a 1,500-seat theater showcasing lavish Vegas-style productions, a 13,500-square-foot health club, four swimming pools, a cascading water slide, a 4,200-square-foot children play area, and a 1,800-square-foot teen club.

Carnival Liberty was introduced in Europe this summer and offers many health and spa services to the passengers. For example, the ship has health and fitness center, fitness and aerobics classes and a wide variety of treatments. Carnival Liberty services include also men, children and teens programs. Other new treatment includes Gentle Touch Tooth Whitening, a system that uses an FDA-approved non-toxic gel and laser therapy.
