More than 50 Avis locations opened at Auto Sears facilities by the end of 2003, with some 100 more following over the next two years. On becoming the exclusive partner of Auto Sears, Avis appears to be the only car rental company to accept Sears Card, owned by 30 million company's customers.
Holders of Sears Card are provided with a unique Worldwide Discount Number for special offers and discounted rates. When renting from Auto Sears, you are provided with a range of additional services, like Additional Liability Insurance, ensuring protection for property damage and bodily injury. Individuals of 25 years of age and older possessing a valid driver's license may be used as additional drivers with the renter's permission. An additional fee may be applied for each additional driver.
In the majority of location fee for additional driver is $25. Exempt from the fee are renter's employer or his regular fellow employee, provided he is at least 25 years of age, has a valid driver's license and owns an Avis honored charge card. Disabled drivers, who have completed non-licensed renter form, may be also listed as additional drivers. In locations of New York renters aged 18-24 are required to pay additional fee of $110. In all other states a fee of $25 applies for renters aged 21-24.
