Dubai International Airport - The ?Trading? AirportDubai is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Middle East region of the world. Every person who often travels by air knows that Dubai is the homeland of Emirates, an air carrier of United Arab Emirates, which was called one of the best airlines in the world in 2005. The main hub of Emirates is Dubai International Airport, which was also awarded as one of the best airports the same year.
History of Dubai International Airport, when Sheik Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum understood the importance of the air connection for country which constantly attracts a lot of tourists from over the world, began with the construction of the airport in Dubai. This construction took one year to be finished, and the airport optimized for DC-3 jet plane with nine airlines' flights in its schedule was the result.
However, the airport has been improved a lot and now it has all volumes to serve all jet aircrafts constructed. Dubai International Airport has three Terminals. At the moment of this article being written, one of them, the Terminal 3, originally designed by Paul Andreu, isn't functioning due to the Airport modernization project. This project also includes a Metro System improving, which will add some auxiliary metro stations to support passenger streams and will end by 2012.
In Dubai International Airport many airlines offer their services to international air travelers. One of the most remarkable features of Dubai International Airport is the thing, that the airport is the one of the largest places, where different duty free shops are concentrated in Dubai. This explains such interest to Dubai Airport, which is avaliable not only for air travelers' eyes, but any traveler and many local inhabitants too, because here you can receive the widest choice of different souvenirs, books, amenities, etc.
The combination of Emirates and Dubai International Airport seems to be the successful one, as both the airport and the airline were awarded for their service quality. However, even with these awards they cannot be considered the best ones. Despite the fact that they still have some features to be improved, this "couple" can be a pass into your own magnificient vacation experience in sunny Dubai.
