Drayton Manor Theme Park: one of the best family parks in the United KingdomDrayton Manor Theme Park is Winner of Group Leisure's Best UK Attraction for Children 2005 and the Heart of England Tourism's Gold Award for Visitor Attraction of the Year 2005. The park located near Tamworth in Staffordshire, Great Britain, is the place where families can enjoy days off at their fullest.
The next generation roller coaster G-Force is new to the park. The amazing ride takes the terrified passengers through a series of high-banked twists and turns at the speed of up to 70 kilometers per hour and up to a maximum height of 23 meters. In addition to the spectacular G-Force, there are over 100 fantastic rides and attractions to choose from.
Drayton Manor Theme Park is divided into several themed lands, each with its own rides and attractions. Aerial Park is full of rides that reach up into the sky above Drayton Manor. There are the world's first Apocalypse stand-up tower drop ride, a powered roller coaster Buffalo for kids, a fabulous double inverter Pandemonium, and more in the Aerial Park.
Fisherman's Wharf, a water-themed zone, is a home to the thrilling Stormforce 10 water drop ride. The Stormforce 10, the Europe's fastest wet-knuckle ride with an amazing backward drop, recreates a lifeboat rescue and has a fantastic speed of 35 knots. Action Park homes many attractions, including the legendary Shockwave stand-up roller coaster, Splash Canyon Rapids for a rafting experience, Maelstrom, to name a few.
The Shockwave, the Europe's only stand-up roller coaster, is called the best roller coaster of the kind in the world. This ride features 500 meters of winding track up to a height of 36 meters, providing the speed of up to 85 kilometers per hour. The Splash Canyon offers white-water rafting for all the family. It is ideal for groups of friends, as you can share a raft and get a great photo at the end.
The Maelstrom, a giant ride, will drag you into a whirlpool of action. The spinning gondola lets riders sit facing outwards when swinging to a height of over 22 meters. On the edge of the lake you will find the Pirate Cove with the marvellous Pirates Adventure ride. The Pirates Adventure is an elaborate indoor dark water ride. You are taken on a journey including pirate towns, torture dungeons and battle grounds.
A visit to Robinson's Land will reveal a mixture of fantastic rides specially designed for kids of all ages. They can look forward to the Toy Ride, Junior Carousel, Ladybirds, Vintage Cars, and a train to the Zoo. Those looking for enjoyment away from the rides should visit Drayton Manor's amazing zoo, which is a home to over a hundred different animal species from around the world, including big cats, snakes and monkeys.
Drayton Manor Theme Park is open from the end of March till the end of October. The Zoo is open throughout a year. Drayton Manor tickets cost about 15 GBP, with various season tickets, party rates, and family tickets available. Children under 4 are admitted free. Entrance Plaza and Central Plaza are full of places to eat, drink and shop. Drayton Manor Theme Park is a wealth of attractions with fun for the whole family, and so it is said to be one of the most popular theme parks in the United Kingdom.
