In February 2006, Walt Disney Marketing launched the new Disney Auction web site as a great alternative to eBay, used formerly as their vendor. Thus, Disney's privately owned branded marketplace is comprised of Disney Auctions, Disney Outlet, and Disney Store Online. This innovation is expected to enable the company to do more brand promotions and draw a larger number of customers. Currently the only categories at the web site include Limited Edition Pins, Collectibles, New Releases, and Artists, with some more planned to be added within the year.
Enjoying wide popularity with customers worldwide, the Disney Store Online is designed to use a seven-day format, and claims to be more selective abut products offered, ensuring high quality and uniqueness. Thus, special items will be available on the web site in the first decade of each month, featuring theme park artifacts, costumes, and props.
In March, customers will be offered special options from March 2 through March 9, while the time frame for such purchases in April is planed to be from 6th through 13th. The Disney Store Online will also continue to offer such limited edition products as pins, cookie jars, snow globes, and more, loved and collected by so many people worldwide.
For shopping at the Disney Store Online, and bidding on the Disney Auction, use an ID that will work there better than eBay. Methods of payment on Disney web sites remains unchanged, with the accepted forms being MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
Those who used to enjoy shopping throughout the areas of Disneyland parks at a variety of Disney stores will probably argue that shopping online can bring the same amount of fun and entertainment as can be found in malls. However, the benefits of the Disney Store Online are evident. It is the only Disney store that can be visited as frequently as you want, and at the most convenient time. You don't have to worry about your purchases being delivered, as the company strives to establish the highest service standards and meet customer's needs for you to enjoy trouble-free Disneyland online shopping.
Launched in 2005, the Disney Store Online has become the premier online shopping destination, offering a great number of items that can be purchased via the Internet only. Among its offerings are limited editions, theme-park items, prototypes, and movie props. Available online are also a number of Disney Deals, offering closeouts from the Walt Disney Company.
Disney Pin Trading, available in each of the Disney theme parks, has become the tradition with the Millennium Celebration in 1999 at the Walt Disney World. Being completely separate from the Disney Store Online, Disney Auctions launched the pin business in October 2002, offering limited edition sizes of 100 pins in the auction environment.
In September 2003, the Purchase-It-Now Store was introduced to DisneyAuctions.com, seen as a fixed-price environment. Two of the most popular Disney Auction pin characters include Stitch and Tinker Bell, followed by Villains and other renowned Disney characters.
