Connecticut shares many of the attractions that make New England a travel favorite: Colonial history, Atlantic Beaches, seaside villages with rich nautical histories, and a pastoral countryside. Connecticut can be a great place to escape from the big city with affordable hotels and motels with manageable opportunities.

Because it sits just outside of New York City, Connecticut is a pleasant escape from the big city just as it once was for Mark Twain. And, although it doesn't get the attention that some of its neighbors in New England does, Connecticut does have beautiful beaches, quaint seafaring towns, and extensive wooded hills.
