Delphi is an archaeological site and a modern town in Greece. It was built around a sacred spring so Delphi is considered to be the omphalos which is the center of the world. In ancient times it was the site of the most important oracle of the God Apollo. And, even today, Delphi is perhaps best known for the oracle at the sanctuary of Apollo.

Housing the sight of the Oracle, Delphi is one of the most important historical sites in Greece. It is set in the hillsides and it is both drenched in a bunch of olive groves and much Greek sunshine, which makes it a delightful area. It is a two hour drive from Athens and offers many lodging options; therefore, Delphi is another great place to visit.
