Disneyland is associated with the best recollections from their childhood that is filled with the greatest fun, friendly Disney characters, and lovable music. For its 50th birthday, Disney has released a fabulous set of six compact discs containing the best music from Disneyland. From the well known soundtrack to the Haunted mansion to the ragtime melodies of Main Street, A musical history of Disneyland is eight hours of the its greatest hits.
Comprising the very best of Disneyland, the set of A Musical History of Disneyland was released to honor the Happiest Homecoming on Earth, the 18th month celebration of their 50th Birthday of the Disneyland theme park that opened in July, 1955. It commemorates 50 years of success of Disney theme parks all over the world. For the occasion, Walt Disney Records released a complete collection of the songs that were admired by millions of adults and children around the world at the Walt Disney Parks, including Grim Grinning Ghost, A Pirate's Life for Me; it's a Small World, and more, including the new song, Remember When, sung by the celebrity singer Leann Rimes. This collection features rare Disneyland photos and notes. This collection is a real treasure for real Disney Park fans.
A Musical History of Disneyland is generally sold in three editions: the limited edition, the Special addition, and the mass market edition. Beginning in April, 2005, 5000 limited edition sets and even more special edition sets were sold at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. The box in the limited edition version is numbered and features the voices of Walt Disney that welcomed visitors to the park. The mass market edition has an unlimited number of sets that are sold at Disneyland and through Disneydirect.com.
The set that contains six discs is a concept album rather than just a collection of Disneyland songs. Each of the discs focuses on the different lands of Disneyland, including Main Street USA., New Orleans Square, Adventure land, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Frontier land, Tomorrow land, and Toontown. Disc two is dedicated to Critter Country sounds featuring such tracks as Rufus Bear Country, Country Bear Jamboree, All I Want, Critter Country, Country Bear Vacation Hoedown, Splash Mountain, Charming Sounds from Critter Country, and the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Like any other songs in the collection, the disc with Critter Country sounds bears the image of the particular area, containing some attraction photos and pictures and some great hits. Included in the disc of critter country sounds are some tracks from the land's former as Bear Country.
Among those songs enjoying the greatest popularity on the Critter Country Sounds disc is the song, The Rain Came Down on Critter Country. With the collection is the 72 page hardcover book Sounds of Disneyland which opens with an introduction by Richard Sherman. The book contains historical information on Disney attractions, Disneyland pictures and posters through the years. From the book, you can learn about the development of Disney's popular rides such as the Haunted Mansion and the Pirates of the Caribbean. Available in the limited edition version is the gold vinyl reproduction of the first release of Walt Disney Records, Walt Disney Records Takes you to Disneyland: A Musical Tour of the Magic Kingdom.
