The capital of Crete and ancient Greece was Knossos. Palace in Knossos, built in approximately 1990 BC, is one of the most famous antiquity of the world civilization. The palace, discovered by the British collector of ancient pieces, Arthur Evance (1851 - 1941), represents a statuesque ensemble of the palace itself, villas, roads, yards, piazzas, halls and galleries.
