Nestled in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, the Walt Disneyworld Resort is a theme park destination resort, operated by the Walt Disney Company. Since it has been introduced in October 1971, the resort managed to grow significantly to include four main theme parks, two water parks, a sports complex, six golf courses, and more than twenty hotels, in addition to numerous dining and shopping offerings.
Out of all Disneyworld hotels, four make themselves conspicuous as those belonging to the "Value Resort" category, including Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, and Disney's All-Star Music Resort. Each of them is dedicated to its particular theme, with the property decorated with huge Disney icons.
Opened in April 2001, one of the most famous Disneyworld hotels, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, is a deluxe class resort, located in close proximity to Disney's Animal Kingdom, and featuring an African theme. The resort's unique feature, making it different from other Disneyworld hotels, is that it allows its guests to watch all the variety of wildlife and animals just outside their rooms, creating the feeling of being in an African savannah. Disney's Animal Kingdom was designed by Peter Dominick, who also designed the properties of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The resort's savannahs host over 200 mammals and exotic birds, representing the rich African palette: zebra, bongo, pink-backed pelicans, and African spoonbills, among others. Some of the endangered bird species of South Africa, like the blue crane, can be found at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge as well.
One of the most widely reputed, Disney's Beach Club Resort is located in the lagoon between Disney-MGM Studios and Epcot, belonging thus to the group of Epcot Area Resorts. It shares amenities with the nearby Disney Vacation Club and Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
Located at the Beach Club Resort property is the famous Cape May Cafe, holding a character breakfast and an indoor clambake for dinner. Visitors are welcome to relax in two quiet pools, or experience several acres of water slides, sand-bottomed areas, and also the greatest fun at Stormalong Bay. Also available are Ship Shape Health Club, featuring spa, sauna, steam room, and therapeutic massage, Lafferty Place Arcade, a high-tech game room offering a variety of pinball and video games, playgrounds, tennis courts, and plentiful facilities for watercraft, jogging, and fishing.
Located in close proximity to Disney's Beach Club Resort is Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, classified as one of the moderately priced Disneyworld hotels. It is designed with a Caribbean theme, featuring small apartment buildings that surround Barefoot Bay. All the buildings are grouped into six villages with shared resources, including Martinique, Barbados, Jamaica, Aruba, Trinidad South, and Trinidad North.
Hotel facilities can be found at Old Port Royale, containing a restaurant, a gift shop, and a food court. Available in all villages are swimming pools and playgrounds. While reserving a room, you will be asked to choose among water view and standard view. While the former offers the view of the beach or the pool, the latter is generally of a parking lot or a courtyard.
