One of the most exciting and thrilling ways of spending time during your vacation is visiting the local theme parks of this or that country. It will be, by all means, to your liking and you will feel as if you returned into your childhood for a little while, and your children will enjoy it as well.

Today we will tell you about only some of the famous theme parks, just to give you an idea, of what kind of entertainment most of them can suggest.

Universal studios: America's forth largest theme park has enthralled 35 000 people per day since it opened 30 years ago. Its latest attraction Jurassic Park, is a miracle of modern engineering with monsters as tall as 5 story building, which come so close that you feel convinced they are going to step on you. You can also enjoy a boat cruise through a tropical forest which ends a 25 meters high speed plunge into a dark lagoon.  Other attractions include Jaws, E.T and Back to the Future.

The Sentosa theme park in Singapore stands on its own island accessible by boat, cable car or a 700 meter causeway.  One of its most spectacular attractions is Volcanoland, which takes you on a simulated journey to the center of the Earth with half-hourly eruptions and earthquakes. Sentosa's huge aquarium is the largest in Asia, and the gardens, with their 300 varieties of orchid, are a pleasure to wander through.

Legoland is situated near the town Billund in Denmark, where Lego & Duplo pieces have been made for 60 years. There are 2 main areas in Legoland. One is Miniland with its miniature models, depicting Amsterdam, Copenhagen Harbor and an English village, as well as the Taj Mahal constracted of lego blocks. The second area contains rides, including a sky railway, a mini driving school and an exiting boat ride, called Pirateland, all of which are great for kids and, fortunately, are not made of lego.

Alton Towers is Britain's most popular theme park.  The rides, including the Energizer, Thunderloop and Nemesis will make you scream with excitement and are as good as anything Disneyland can offer. There are 125 attractions, 1/3 of them - indoors, permitting fun in all weather. Alton Towers 'unique attraction is the Chocolate Factory; it never runs out of sweets and fizzy drinks.

Walt Disney's magic kingdom in America, Japan and France is suitable for all ages. It is made up of "7 lands", each with a different theme and has rides, ranging from the petrifying Space Mountains  ( screams are guaranteed)  to the more sedate Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion.  It's also a delight to see Mickey Mouse and his friends, signing autographs, posing for photographs, and even joining visitors for breakfast. The best attractions at the magic Kingdom are definitely the daily Mickey Mania parade and the evening fireworks show which are not to be missed. There is also a vast choice of snack bars and restaurants, as it is Disney's policy not to allow visitors to bring their own food.

Kennywood: America's Favourite Traditional Amusement Park is proud to be a National Historic Landmark. The park features thirty-one major rides, including three water rides, three classic wood coasters, the Phantom's Revenge steel coaster, and a one-of-a-kind indoor coaster, the Exterminator. Kiddieland offers 14 "just for kids" ride. Plus, with approximately 40 games, seven gift shops and two arcades, Kennywood's action isn't limited to rides ( in comparison with other theme parks)! Live entertainment all day, at two stages and strolling around the park.

Of course this is not the full list of world's famous theme parks, add here Gulliver's world in England, Hersheys park &World of fun ( in America), Toronto Ireland  (in Canada) and many, many others.  So before going on vacation choose the most suitable park for you and your company and enjoy your time.
