Enter the Arabic world through the Center for Arabic language

Added: 11/26/2005

There are plenty of good places to study the Arabic and many other cultures to penetrate along with language learning. The Fajr Center for Arabic language is perhaps one of the best ways to do it. At least many people recommend it to foreign students interested in learning Classical Arabic. The center for Arabic language will become the starting point in carving out a career for people intending to work in countries of the Arabic world, such as Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and many others.

The Fajr Center for Arabic Language was founded in Cairo in 1995 with the sole purpose of teaching theClassical Arabic Language which is also known as Fus-ha, or Modern Standard Arabic, to non-Arabs. From the start, it has been  their  philosophy to teach the language through the medium of the Arabic language itself. So  since the very first day of dtudies, the students of the center for Arabic  language in class hear nothing but Arabic.

The program at Fajr Center is geared towards providing the students with the necessary information and training needed to enhance rapid study of  Arabic along with gradual skill building techniques in the areas of verbal articulation, phonetics, reading and comprehension, writing, morphology, rhetoric and critical thinking in  Arabic  and  many other important skills. This program consists of twelve levels, from the zero level to  level eleven.

Their  policy is to assign a different teacher to a class at each level or even  more, providing the students with the capability to adapt and to learn to understand different voice pitches, handwritings, and also, to provide the student with a rich variety of teachers having different specialties concernming the Arabic language.

The program at Fajr Center for Arabic language is divided into 5 categories:
(A) Main Classical Arabic "Foss-ha" Programs
(B) Advanced Programs (Advanced Grammar and Morphology Program I/II, Rhetoric , Conversation , Open Reading , Dictation)
(C) Other Specialized Programs (Arabic Phonetics "Tajweed", Calligraphy, Public speaking""khataba", Diplomatic Relations, Political relations, Trade relations , Arabic for Journalism and Mass Communication )
(D) Local Egyptian Dialect " Ammeeyah" Program
(E) Teachers' Training Program

The student at the  center for Arabic language can choose one of the following types of classes in any of the categories: Group class, Private one-to-one class, Semi-private class, University group class, Custom class.

Advanced Programs in this center for Arabic language are concerned with various branches of the Arabic language, each program concentrates on a specific area. Although they are taught among the different levels of the classical Foss-ha program, these programs are designed to concentrate on the study of these specific areas in a detailed and broad sense.

These programs are also designed to target different types of students.

Specialized Programs are concerned with various arts of the Arabic Language that are not normally covered in the main language programs, each program concentrates on a study of a specific art.

"Ammeyah", the Egyptian spoken dialect is widely spoken and understood in every Arab country. For people intending to work in Egypt or else where in the Arab world or touring the mother of civilization, 'Ammeyah will prove to be useful.  Ther`is a  program concerning this dialect too.

Study of the Arabic in Egypt is a good choice, but if you like Marocco,  why not learn the language there?

The Arabic Language Institute in Fez or ALIF offers courses in all levels of Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic throughout the year, but this is another story...
