Great Cancun restaurants are everywhere and they serve up some incredible meals. Steak lovers to vegetarians, everyone has a great choice of meals. Everywhere you go there are waterfront restaurants and taco stands, food courts to fast food. Have it delivered to your hotel or dress up and go out, the choice is yours. Some of the fancier Cancun restaurants have a dress code; you may want to inquire ahead of time. Do sample some of the local Yucatecan dishes that are a regional treat.
When people think of Mexico, they may picture sunny beaches, haciendas, and sombreros, but the owners of La Destileria, the Crab House or the Captain's Cove have some other images to highlight-excellent Mexican seafood.
Marked by refinement and class, the Crab House attracts some of the most affluent visitors in Cancun. The menu includes crocodile fajitas, fish fillets, shrimp and shellfish entrees, and a myriad of crab dishes created by the discerning imagination of some of the city's finest chefs. Don't overdo it on the main course and you will be able to enjoy the sinfully tasty chocolate cake and vanilla flan dessert.
Some of Cancun restaurants can romance you. The Crab House has an execellent location overlooking the waters, its lighting is soft and romantic and the ambiance is excellent. The waiters wait on you hand and foot. You`ll have one waiter pulling your chair out while another placing your napkin on your lap and one more handing you a menu. It may seem too much for some people but when you are on vacation you can be pampered. So, this is a very nice place to go, very family oriented, not crowded and noisy, it may be a little pricy, but you're on vacation, enjoy it!
The Plantation House recreates for the senses all the tropical splendor of Caribbean dining. Patrons will be treated like royalty by waiters clad in white gloves and jackets, and the view of the lagoon and mangroves only adds to the romantic atmosphere. Entrees are just as refined and include duck medallions in green-pepper sauce, fish fillets prepared with authentic Caribbean spices and topped with vanilla sauce, and crab and lobster served in a variety of ways.
This is one of the most elegant Cancun restaurants. Pale-yellow-and-blue clapboard restaurant overlooking Nichupte lagoon takes you back to the time when the Caribbean first experienced European tastes and culinary talents. For starters, try the signature poached shrimp with lemon juice and olive oil, or creamy crabmeat soup. Move on to the main event, which may consist of classic veal Wellington in puff pastry with duck pate, fish filet crusted in spices and herbs and topped with vanilla sauce, or lobster medaillons in mango sauce. Flambeed desserts are a specialty, and the Plantation House has one of the most extensive wine lists in town. It's generally quite crowded, which makes it a bit loud for a romantic evening. But remember to dress in your finest and come prepared to fall in love-at least with the food.
