Cancun in Mexico is located in the State of Quintana Roo at the most southern tip of the peninsula. It is divided into two sections: the Hotel Zone [Zona Hotelera] which is a 22 km sandy strip of land between a lagoon and seaside hotels located on Cancun Island and Cancun City/Downtown [El Centro] which is home to the many Mexicans who live in the district. Downtown is located on the mainland.
In the last two decades Cancun in Mexico has grown from a tiny jungle village into one of the world's best-known holiday resorts. The Mexican government sunk vast sums into landscaping and infrastructure, yielding straight, well-paved roads, drinkable tap water and great swathes of sandy beach.
Cancun in Mexico is most visited tourist destination and boasts over twenty-five thousand hotel rooms and cancun presidential suite. Cancun has an impressive Hotel Zone, where the most important international chains of the world have constructed majestic hotels. Most tourists stay in the Zona Hoteles (Hotel Zone), where the majority of high-end hotels and nightclubs are located. The Cancun Hotel zone flanked by the Caribbean Sea on the east and a lagoon between it and the main peninsula on the west.
There's golf, tennis lots of shopping facilities and a remarkable biodiversity. There are four hundred seventy-five bird species, over a hundred different mammals and twelve hundred plant species.
Cancun in Mexico has lots of beaches, and the hotels are magnificent. Some people actually never even leave the hotel grounds their entire vacation. This speaks volumes for some of these resorts situated on the edge of ocean beaches.
The beautiful ocean are home to over two thousand five hundred marine species with five hundred different tropical fish. Cancun's biggest attraction is of course the Caribbean Sea. The beach is why Cancun exists. Cancun's primary attractions are thus aquatic orientated. These include diving, snorkeling, fishing, water-parks, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, jet skiing and just plain swimming.
Of course there is lots more to do here and in fact you can visit Cancun for two weeks, stay busy and never hit the beach once.
Cancun has a number of reasonably priced venues/attractions for visitors to enjoy beyond the dynamic club scene. You can relax and enjoy a delicious lobster dinner with live folk dancing or take a dinner cruise or enjoy your meal on a pirate ship. Even venturing into Cancun City and eating in a truly Mexican restaurant can be exciting.
It's white beaches, gorgeous weather, warm Caribbean waters and proximity to Mexico's cultural centers make it an ideal vacation destination. It has a bit of everything!. Discover every water sport under the tropical sun from parasailing to water-skiing. Test your skills on the Golf Course, treat yourself to a Temazcal bath - a traditional steam bath that promises to purify your body and relax your mind.
Nightlife aplenty if that's what you are there for. Is almost as legendary as the ruins. Cancun is regarded as the Spring Break destination of choice for newly graduated young Americans and for good reason. The Hotel Zone features many hip, loud discos frequented by scantily clad young people who party until sunrise. People with earlier bedtimes should avoid the months of March and April when spring-breakers are out in full force.
