Brighton is Britain's minion seaside city. Brighton is a rich mix of Regency heritage, specialist shopping, lively arts, beachfront fun and year round events and grandiose sights.  Brighton is a compact city with everything within walking distance. Brighton is rich in hotels and different accommodations for tourists and guests of the city.

Of course among such a variety of hotels it's rather difficult to find your bearings, but there is a common feature concerning Brighton hotels - comfort and magnificence. The most favorable and prestige Brighton Hotels are Brighton Hotel, Kings Hotel, Premier Travel Inn Brighton City Centre , Hotel Brighton, Ramada Brighton, Royal Albion Hotel, Holiday Inn Brighton-Seafront, Lansdowne Place Hotel, Old Ship Hotel, De Vere Grand Brighton and, of course, Hilton Brighton Metropole (King's Road, East Sussex, Brighton, Sussex, BN1 2FU - 3 Stars).

Hilton is the proud flagship brand of Hilton Hotels Corporation and the most recognized name in the global lodging industry. Nowadays there are over 500 hotels in cities all over the world. Today we speak about Hilton Brighton Metropole - one of the brilliance Brighton hotels.

The Hilton Brighton Metropole is an elegant Victorian hotel situated in a prime position on Brighton's cosmopolitan beachfront close to the historic West Pier and half a mile from the Royal Pavilion.

The Hotel Metropole was built in 1890. The building is faced with red terracotta, and greatly differs from the surrounding constructions. The Hilton Brighton Metropole was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, the architect of University College in London and the Natural History Museum. Its construction came to $257,000.00. All the furniture was designed by Maple's. The dominant colors ranged from golden brown to ivory white, with matching curtains in silk.

The smoking room had easy chairs and below them there were the Turkish baths. All the rooms were decorated by Albert Kingsley and the brothers Temple. The hotel had a lot of English touches. One of them was carved oak fireplace designed by Queen Victoria's nephew. The bedrooms were abundantly decorated and the bathrooms were equipped with all modern conveniences including hot and cold fresh or sea water.

Many characters have passed through the doors of the Metropole, including the 'Gaiety girls', Princess Louise (daughter of Queen Victoria), and Lillie Langtry.

During the years of both World Wars the Hilton Brighton Metropole was bombed several times but none of the shells didn't hit the mark. Post-war times made their changes. The hotel was part of the Gordon hotel chain from its construction up until 1959, when it was acquired by AVP industries. The hotel was greatly modified due to the addition of bathrooms to all its rooms and the roofline change - two new floors were added. Inside the building there were also rather essential changes: the replacement of winter gardens by the new Regency ballroom, the construction of a swimming pool and health club in the space occupied by the former Turkish baths. The hotel changed the owners several times. In 1977 it was a part of the Lonrho group. In recent years, the hotel has changed hands to the Stakis group and is now part of the Hilton group.

Nowadays it's one of the most wonderful Brighton hotels that have 334 bedrooms feature bright, contemporary decor and come with television with pay movies, and Internet connections, 28 meeting & function rooms and 9 exhibition halls. Guests of the Hilton Brighton Metropole can relax in the pool, sauna, spa and steam room before dining in one of the two restaurants offering sea views.

One may say that almost all Brighton hotels provide visitors with the best services, but believe - The Hilton Brighton Metropole is one of the best!
