Blimpie Fast Food is Gaining More Popularity

Added: 10/26/2005

Like all fast-food companies, blimpie fast food is trying to attract clients, who are willing to lose weight. Fast food is now frequently used as a synonym for diet, since we can hear more and more people saying they have lost weight by munching exclusively on low-fat sandwiches. Such advertisements are extremely relevant, as nearly 75 per cent of Americans are obese in overweight.

Trying to win more clients, blimpie fast food have added more menu items, going beyond burgers, sodas and fries. The chefs from Great Britain and the USA have collaborated to create bimpie recipes - a new line of healthy delicious patties, which are perfect for vegetarians.

More vegetarian food is required from blimpie fast food and other fast food restaurants. The problem lies in raising obesity rates. Government also makes recommendations fast food companies should post signs to warn clients that frequent visits of blimpie fast food as well as other restaurants raise the risk of getting fat. That in turn leads to heart disease. Fast food restaurants will also be required to display information concerning calories on menu boards. People might think twice about buying meal if they knew how many calories it contained.

Measures are being taken to improve schoolchildren's health. About 15 per cent of U.S. children suffer from obesity and a form of diabetes, which was observed in adults only. Accidentally or not, the rise coincided with an increase in consumption of fast food among children since 1970. State legislative leaders plan to pass the bill, which will affect nutrition, school lunches and physical education. Obesity researches showed that nearly 35 per cent of all U.S. children aged 5-19 visit fast food restaurants every day. Consequently they add about 6 pounds a year to their weight.

Meanwhile blimpie fast food campaigns promote healthy food and emphasize physical activity. Fast food restaurants are alarmed at the accusations against them for rising obesity rates. For this reason they put more emphasis on physical exercises. Blimpie offers its clients the possibility to win two free weeks at a gym or 15 free sessions with a trainer. The aim of such campaigns is to attract more clients and persuade them they can loose weight. It works: food rich in calories is sold as slenderizing. In fact the exercise is not enough: you can burn off one Whooper running 9 miles in one hour.

A special work group began its activity to explore how blimpie fast food company and other food corporations can be sued over obesity. Much of the meal contains over 1000 calories. It causes irreparable harm to people's health, so that no physical exercises can restore it.

Obesity lawsuits have already gone to court in California and New York. They are expected to change public policy. In 2003 lawsuit was filed in New York. Plaintiffs included two children who weighted nearly 400 pounds. The case was dismissed, since the law doesn't have to protect people from overeating.

Of course the most effective solution is raising people's awareness of the sharp rise in obesity and health problems. Sometimes we have no time for home-cooked dinners. But more often we simply cannot resist temptation. The burger is so delicious, what happens if I eat one more? Usually we start thinking about our health when it's too late. Some measures must be taken to form the public opinion and encourage the healthier way of life.
