Beach Resorts in Israel

Added: 06/23/2005

Exotic Middle East culture from one side and modern life style from another, beautiful resorts and beaches, perfume of Mediterranean cuisine and hot weather, bright colors and music. Israel welcomes you.

Talking about sunny resorts we usually imagine California, Hawaii, Fiji, Portugal, Spain etc. This time we are offered to travel and enjoy all-day-long sunny weather and salty smell of refreshing breezes in the different part of our tiny Earth. This is a beautiful place, a country of four seas and seven different climate zones, deserts and mountains - all together. It's a small country but probably has more places of interests and wonderful beaches than most other countries in the world. It is Israel.

Tel-Aviv, which in Hebrew means Spring Hill, is not only the biggest metropolis in Israel, not only commercial and political, cultural and tourist center of this country. It's also a traditional and very popular Middle Eastern resort on Mediterranean Sea. The entire seacoast is covered by hotels, restaurants, cafes and disco-clubs, which are situated just in front of the beach sands washed by the dark waves of the sea. Mediterranean Sea is known as a sea of temper. That's why coast guards are very strict there. They demonstrate their skills and special equipment sometimes with no purpose, though somehow it makes you feel even more relaxed and secure. It is normal here to meet Scandinavian and North-European tourists during the "coldest" winter days. Even in winter the sea is warm and the weather is pleasant. The year lowest air temperature is about +18 °C. In the evening or if the weather has decided to show you "where the fish finds a lavatory" (from the Israeli proverb) you could go and deep yourself in the often-happening cultural events, very traditional museums, small but very cozy theaters and bright and loud nightlife.

Another amazing place to go in search of sunny sands in Israel is the Dead Sea.  This resort is famous for its unusual features. First of all, the Dead Sea is considered to be the lowest point on Earth. It is 417 meters (1,373 ft.) below the sea level. All the way to the Dead Sea is a serpentine road, which is going down and down among old rocks. The Hebrew name for this sea is Yam-Hamelah which means the sea of salt. From the first spot when you can see it you think it is filled with snow. Loads of small white islands shown up on the Dead Sea's surface are isles of natural salt and minerals. That's why this resort is also the most famous "natural clinic" around the world. Water in it is not as plain as we are used to think about water. It's heavy of salt and minerals. It is absolutely impossible to get drawn in it. World-well-known mineral and mud cosmetics are made here. Many local people and foreign tourists are coming here during a year to catch the tan and to heal themselves physically and mentally. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. And of course the entire Dead Sea coast is a modern-like resort with hotels and entertainments on it.

The precious pearl of the Red Sea - so they call it - Eilat is the most famous and advanced resort in Israel and probably in the Middle East. Situated between the waters of the Gulf of Aqaba and the old mountains of the Negev Desert it is a national pride of Israeli tourism. Well organized, all build-up with modern hotels and entertainment sites for anyone's interest of any age. The sea is an entertainment itself here. It is transparent and filled with colorful fishes of all kinds and natural coral reefs like a gigantic exotic aquarium. By the way small submarine takes brave tourists under the water to show its secrets from inside. On-coast one can enjoy surfing and scuba diving courses, parachute and bungee jumping, hotel organized discos and sea trips, clear sands and beautiful waters, 7/24 festival-like atmosphere. It all makes the time spent on the Red Sea coast special and unforgettable.
