Availability and access to bullfighting real time TV

To aficionados? regret, bullfighting real time TV outside Spain, France and other countries, legalizing bullfighting, is a rarity. Bullfighting is considered an inhuman and cruel performance that should be banned, while such promotional means as TV, radio, posters, journals and magazines should be prohibited in the first instance. What can true aficionados do?

In fact, bullfighting real time TV is mainly broadcasting only in Spain and only in Spanish. According to the recent data, bullfighting real time TV in the UK, USA and other countries, where bullfighting is illegal, was available via three main sources with bullfighting real time translation provided. These were the Spanish channel TVE Internacional, Mexican channel Galavision and French channel Canal Plus.

The Spanish channel TVE Internacional is available in Europe on the Hot Bird I satellite at thirteen degrees East on 11.220 GHz (H), audio 6.60 MHz and in the Americas on the Hispasat satellite at thirty degrees West on 12.078 GHz (V), audio 6.80 MHz. It is also accessible in Europe via a cable. The channel features several bullfighting real time TV programs, particularly "Tendido Cero", a half-hour weekly review program, and "Tendido Cero - Toros", showing bullfights from Spain and sometimes from France and South America. There are also fifteen-minute reviews of the ferias of the Fallas (Valencia), April Fair (Seville), San Isidro (Madrid) and the encierros of Pamplona. The TVE Internacional schedules are available on Teletext on page four hundred and one. However, the American and European versions of TVE Internacional are different, and, suggestively, Americans would not see features of bullfighting real time TV.

TVE (Television Espanola) (which transmits a satellite service and TVE Internacional) has a number of digital channels, including TVE Canal 24 Horas, a twenty four-hour news channel, which began broadcasting on 15, September, 1997. It is Spain's first news and information channel, even competing with CNN Plus, and it probably features bullfighting real time TV. Currently, the channel is available on the Eutelsat Hot Bird 2 satellite in Europe and the Hispasat 1C satellite in America.

"Corrida" showed highlights from French corridas every Sunday evening during July and August on the French channel Canal Plus on the Telecom satellite. Nevertheless, according to recent facts, the government has put an end to the coverage of bullfights by the French TV station Canal Plus along with bans on bullfighting in the towns of Toulouse and Carcassonne and a decision by major French charities to stop taking donations from bullfighting funds. Although bullfighting takes place in sixty eight cities and towns of France, some other information about bullfighting TV channels and programs is not obtainable or at least mentioned in English-speaking sources.

The mexican channel Galavision in Europe, accessible via the Astra satellite, features "Toros y Deportes", a weekly review, shown on Monday evenings. Sometimes bullfighting real time TV programs are featured on this channel on Sundays. There is also DIRECTV PARA TODOS®, which is a service, allowing to watch the most Spanish-language channels, comprising movies, sports, news, family programming and more. It particularly provides an access to Galavision, Channel four hundred and four, Television Espanola (TVE) Internacional, channel four hundred and seven, and other thirty six channels.
