Science and Industry is something inseparable from our lives. It is something extremely vital for us,  something which completely changes our lives, to the better, of course. In today's fast world of technological progress can you imagine yourself living without all the modern amenities and conveniences you are so used to? It is really doubtful. Thus, we should pay the deepest respect to  progress and people who contributed to it. So why not  start with visiting the Museum of Science and Industry and get to know something about the history of science.

One of the most remarkable objects displayed by the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry is the 1830 Warehouse. It is the first railway warehouse in the world, built in 1830 by Manchester contractor David Bellhouse Jr. Thanks to the fact that the interior and exterior of the warehouse saw little change, many original features survived. These include a Victorian office, a hydraulic crane and gas light fittings.

Technology, which had a great impact on  people's lives can be observed and studied in the Electricity Gallery. The greatest advantage of visiting this exhibition is that you can learn about the principles of electricity and observe early electric machines, such as electric shock machines used in medical treatment. The Gallery's central feature is an English Electric turbo-generator, installed in Bolton's Back of the Bank Power Station in the 1930s. The Electricity Gallery of the Museum of Science and Industry also tells about Manchester's vital role in computer development.

The true story of Manchester's water supply and sanitation from Roman times to the present day can be learned by paying a visit to one of the most popular Museum of Sceince and Industry Galleries - Underground Manchester. The gallery gives you a chance to explore the history of the toilet through exhibits including a real Victorian privy (earth closet) and a tippler toilet featuring an unusual flushing system.  A recreation of the laundry at Moss Street Public Baths, Bolton will get you acquainted with steam laundry. So you will deepen you knowledge about the past times technology.

The Manchester Science gallery is a specially organized project to give the public information about the Manchester scientists living nowadays and in the past, whose magic brains influenced the world's scientific development. The main point of the gallery is a timeline featuring scientific achievements in Manchester against a backdrop of world science discoveries. The Science Today and Tomorrow exhibit features current developments such as robotics, scarless tissue healing and odourless socks!

The Manchester Museum of Science and Industry also invites you to the Printing Gallery, where you can observe the process of letterpress printing, widely used in the 19th century. Letterpress printers produced anything from newspapers and handbills to business stationery.  Needless to say, that their work was physically demanding and dirty, but also required careful attention to detail. But it is thanks to them and their work that the printing process is far easier today.

The Museum of Science and Technology is as worth visiting as the one mentioned above. It is here that you can visit the Computer Gallery and have a look at the diversity of computers invented, from the very first ones, called The Baby Computer, to the latest and powerful ones. Another sound reason to visit this museum is the Power Hall with lots of interesting to see at and the Air and Space Hall, exhibiting aircrafts from all the times and epochs.

Besides wonderfully cognitive exhibitions, the Museum of Science and Technolopgy in Manchester invites you to the Collections Centre, aiming at providing visitors with different sources and kinds of information. It is a blending of a shop, a gallery and a study centre.

So, should you desire to explore the history of science, technology and industry - the Museum of Science and Industry will give you the warmest embraces.
