American embassy: on the way to 'melting pot'

Added: 11/30/2005

Due to an immense folk merge the United States of America have been a long while called 'melting pot'. People of different ethnic groups come to the USA, and everyone picks up little bits and pieces of various cultures specifically tinted and characterized by particular qualities. Every year millions of people come to the USA just to breathe in this 'merged' air, to meet the US people and to touch a sweep of cultures as a whole. You can go to the USA any time you want if you have a valid American visa. And to receive it you are to refer to the American embassy in your country.

Have you ever been to the USA?  If your answer is 'no' let us make a little trip to this beautiful country.  This part of the continent astonishes a lot of tourists with peaceful co-existence of nature and humanity.  In the Wild West you can overstep the city boundaries and find yourself in a virgin plane.  It may seem to you that in a moment you will see an eagle flying above your head and feel the breath of a hot steppe wind.

But there is not only nature which attracts tourists` attention.  Big cities like Chicago, New York, Washington DC may boast about places of interest worth seeing.  One of the most cheerful and friendly places in the USA is Disneyland, which is situated in California.  It is a real paradise for children where they can play and talk with their favourite tale heroes.

There is one more place in America, which will make happy both children and there parents.  It is the globe-famous entertainment park 'The World of Walt Disney' in Orlando, Florida.  Its enormous territory covering 11 thousand hectares homes 'Tomorrowland' -- the town of future, 'Sea World' -- the most popular sea park in the world, a huge limpid aquarium-subway, and a lot of other entertainment facilities.

You should also visit the capital of the United States - Washington DC with its deal of museums and historical monuments.  The city is named after George Washington, a military leader of the American Revolution and the first President of the United States.  The city's sprawling national parks include picnic areas, fields, hiking trails, and concert stages.  Smaller parks provide excellent places to relax.  DC is filled with interesting spots to spend an afternoon or to stroll by on a nice day. And the World's Biggest Chair made of solid mahogany is definitely worth looking at!

But before going to the USA you are to get a visa.  For this purpose you should refer to the American embassy or American consulate in your country.  A visa is the document, which allows to enter the country.  It may be given to those visiting the country on official business trips or simple tourists, or else, those who intend to visit their friends and relatives living in the USA.

The American embassy will give you a visa B-1 or B-2 depending on the purpose of your visit.
If it is a business trip you will get a B-1 visa which allows meeting partners, partaking in conferences, visiting commercial exhibitions, holding business negotiations, selling, buying and investing enterprises or immovable property, and other types of business activity not related to applying for an official job in the USA.  When interviewed at the American embassy, you may be asked about your work line.  In this case you will have to submit to the consulate any business correspondence occurred between you and your American partners.

A B-2 visa is a tourist visa, and you may get it if going to the USA to visit friends or relatives.  In this case you can provide the consulate with a letter of invitation.  The embassy will also require information about your estimated place of accommodation and the extract from your personal account.  You should remember that you will not receive entry visa if there are any slightest suspicions that you are intending to stay in the country.  So, you must submit your return ticket to the American embassy.

The lists of documents required when receiving a visa at the American embassy includes an application form, information about your expected place of residence, a letter from your chief confirming that you have not interrupted your career and are to resume it on return.

The USA officials always take much care for their tourists. So, it is twice an excellent place for rest and vacation, just as for business traveling, due to the lands splendour and travel safety.
