Travelling is definitely a very beautiful occupation. It opens for us a door to a wide world, lets us get in touch with other cultures or get to know better the culture of our own native land. While travelling we go sightseeing, enjoy the masterpieces of art, national cuisine, study a language a little bit or get some practice in case we already know it an so on. Everyone has his/her own reasons for travelling and has different visions of spending holidays and vacations, but everyone faces the same questions. One of the most important of them is the problem of accommodation.
Very few go out on a trip without having even a very vague idea of where to stay or simply to spend nights. On the opposite, most of us usually have to bother themselves with all these accommodation questions like - how to choose a place to stay, what variants are the most cheap and what variants are the most convenient.
By the way, in some cases they won't even let you in the country if you don't let them know where you're going to stay.
Variants of accommodation are in fact plenty. Which is the best one especially for you depends on many points. Some of them are: what is your destination? Are you going to stay at one place or move across the country? By what means are you planning to travel? What are your financial abilities or the planned budget of the holidays? Even the traits of you character do matter.
If you are visiting Rome or Paris, you should hardly plan to stay at a ranch or in a road motel. If you are coming for a week or two, you won't probably think of renting an apartment. If you are renting a car, you could choose some accommodation in the suburbs or in some distance from center - this will be much cheaper. If you like comfort and traditions - all the types of exotics like huts and bungalows are probably not for you. If you are communicative, friendly, don't mind noise and rather undemanding, you won't mind much staying in some hostel or a kind of a campus. If you are travelling with the family or in a friendly company, you could land a cottage.
If you are travelling by means of some tour operator, in most cases, it already provides you with some certain accommodation. It's almost always the hotel rooms.
There also do exist all types of study programs. In this case the educational institution has to provide you with accommodation. Sometimes you are offered a choice between staying in a campus, living in a family or renting some apartment - sometimes within the hostel.
Coming into a country by invitation you should ask the person that invites you to deal with the problem of accommodation beforehand. Best for you is of course to stay at a friend's or relative's house.
We can go on with all the variants of accommodation for ages. It shouldn't become a headache - that's for sure, yet it's a question that should be decided beforehand. Just imagine yourself in the airport or at the railway station in the unknown country or city with no place to go. The situation can be worse only if you also have no money.
