The first version of Poker history claims that the Chinese were responsible for the advent of the game. The game was played with coins called dominoes. The game was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. But there is another version, which says that the game originated in Persia, and it was called nas. Nas was played with 5 suits comprising 5 cards each.
The French too weren't behind in bringing in their own version of the game. They called it Poque. Poque was a con game. It involved a lot of betting and bluffing. Interesting and enticing that the game was, it gathered fans all along its way. The game traveled from one corner of America to another. Even the Wild West fell victim to the excitement that the game generated. By and large, Poker had started to gain popularity then.
In Nevada, during the early 1900s, Poker was considered illegal. But in the 30s things started looking good for the gambling circle, as the idea of legalizing gambling seemed possible. Finally, after a lot of grappling, in 1931, online casinos were legalized and so was Poker.
