Personal information

The username and the headline are the main parts of you personals profile. But on no account does it mean that you may write a load of rubbish in the bulk text. The information you give further should correspond to what you said at the beginning, otherwise you will ruin all of the good impression achieved by the headline.

The effect will be that the headline and the personal information provided are created by different people. And who wants to have any affairs with a person who can't even set forth his ideas.

So, let's return to our muttons. The first part of the profile consists of questions about your person. In drop down menus you choose your age, enter your city and state, your height, etc.

The most difficult part is to choose the answer that best suits you. The difficulty lies in wanting to be truthful yet still be found attractive by others. There might be a huge temptation to embroider the facts. So giving certain personal information in your profile, demands filling in a kind of questionnaire. But there are also sections where you can use your own words, i.e. you are not restricted by the form of the answer. You are given minimum 100 characters and maximum 200 characters to describe your personality and your ideal match. The key of your success is brevity.

You should manage to put thing briefly and clearly. A profile too heavy with personal information will make a dull reading with all the ensuing consequences. And try not to make mistakes (the computer has a spell check function of course, but there stay the grammar and style).

Do not be afraid saying good things about yourself. The thing is not to sound supercilious in the process. Write about your attributes without pretension. It doesn't mean that you should play down, the truth can't be denied. The thing is how you convey the truth. If your personal information leaves a sour taste in someone's mouth you are not likely to get a respond to your ad.

If you are not going to post a picture then a physical description of yourself won't be out of place. Here also try to be honest. If you have a few extra pounds, don't say you are ?average?, or do not choose ?athletic? instead of ?slender?. Your vis-a-vis' slight disappointment during the rendezvous won't be to your advantage. Better post a picture, not to yield to temptation and embellish the details. Regardless of what information you are going to embroider in order to sway opinion in your favor, keep in mind, honesty is the best policy.

It a good idea to list the things that you are passionate in the section where you enter personal information. That may help find people that have similar interests and also saves time (someone who has completely different pursuits will not bother both himself and you with answering to your ad).

If you are divorced and have children better mention it in advance. Your ideal match might by disappointed by finding out that his possible passion is a loving mother (or father, doesn't matter). Don't forget about your pets either. Will you, by the way, be glad to meet an alligator in your future love's bathroom?
