When is it ' that movie time? You may not check up your notebook or schedule ' there's definitely no such note. You may suggest that it's when you watch a movie. Well you're almost right. But still remember how many times you turned on your TV, found some movie shown and started watching it without bothering yourself too much about what's happening in that movie and while doing some household job or anything else. Well that wasn't movie time.
Movie time is when you that you want to relax or have some intellectual pleasure. It's when you do nothing but watch movie. There're a few variants of doing it.
You look through the Sunday evening TV-program and find there some movie you've always wanted to see but didn't have time to go to the cinema when it was shown there. Or it's just a movie you've seen before and love a lot so that you're never against to watch it once more. Or you've simply read or seen the announce of it and liked it. So you hurry back home and try to get all you home job done to the beginning of the movie. You buy some chips or home-cooked pop-corn, get your kids, husband/wife or any other relatives sent off the living room to watch their TV-show on other TV-set (well you may either invite to watch the movie with you but only after they take a vow to stay silent). And after all the necessary preparations are done you place yourself with comfort on a coach and start watching. Yet it isn't the perfect movie time.
Number one problem is of course five minutes long ads every ten minutes of the movie, and the quality of the picture and sound of common TV-movies is usually so-so. And very often the time isn't very convenient to you. You may record the movie but it will only loose in it's quality and probably you will never get to see that movie.
So maybe you'd go to the cinema to watch a good movie. Choose the time, choose the movie, take someone with you and go. In the cinema they do arrange everything for watching movies. We all know this. Lights out, huge screen, comfortable armchairs, surrounding sound and etc. But in the cinema you're never alone.
You hear the comments on the movie from a neighbor on the left, you hear cell phone of the neighbor on the right ringing, too persons behind you are just having a very animated chat. Yes, cinema is a public place and not everyone comes here to watch movies. Don't forget about that someone that you've come with. If it's a date ' well then nobody usually hopes to watch a movie.
Movie? What was it about?... Or your friend may just think that you aren't able to understand not a single episode without his/her comments.
So if you really-really want to have good movie time, watch the movie and be sure that nothing/no one will interrupt you ' then take a DVD or a video-cassette, turn all the phones out, close all windows and lock all doors and watch it. The pleasure will be full. And if you have a home theater then you know that it doesn't yield much the cinema quality.
If you think this is a little bit selfish to get all the pleasure for yourself than go for it ' tell your friends you have a tremendous movie on DVD and invite them to watch it. But mind that tastes differ and that in company it's better to watch blockbusters filled with special effects or light comedy. And while you all are watching the movie there will definitely some comments, opinions, exclamations and asks to 'stop it for a minute' that lasts a quarter of an hour. One moment you can even find yourselves not watching movie but sharing the latest news and rumors. Maybe all friends are such great movie lover that this won't ever happen, but this is how it usually happens. So if you need a movie only as a background then that's OK, but if you really got a movie that you want to watch from the very beginning to the very end you should probably think of a different movie time.
So buy a ticket or push the button and have pleasant movie time of the kind you like the most.
