Las Vegas has come a long way since the Rat Pack. While gambling is still king, Sin City has remade herself into the entertainment capital of the world. Whatever your taste, the city now prides itself on having a show to suit your needs. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a girls' night out, family fun, or just a night out with the boys, you'll find a multitude of quality options available on any given evening. Celebrities, royalty, and performers of every kind make an effort to stop in Las Vegas and if you'd like to join the party, you'll have to come along too.

Most of the acts that perform in Las Vegas are only found in Las Vegas. If you're a fan of a particular group or event, you can always count it to happen here. There are so many options for Las Vegas entertainment and late night excisions that without some sort of guide, you could find yourself a little overwhelmed. All it takes is a little forethought and research to develop a plan. Figure out what type of experience you are looking for and then search for available selections in that area.

A trip to Las Vegas is an opportunity to see some of the most regarded names in entertainment business. Currently, "A New Day" with Celine Dion and "The Red Piano" with Elton John are the two biggest arrivals, and both play at the Coliseum outside Caesars Palace. This state of the art facility offers the largest LED screen in North America, creating visual artistry to match the amazing presentations of their stars.

Feeling romantic? What better way to say I love you than with the gift of Wayne Newton tickets at the Stardust? If they're not a Wayne fan, you might also try Mamma Mia! (playing at Mandalay Bay), Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance at the Venetian, or choose from a wide selection of limited-time special guest stars listed on the websites of the respective venues. Jubilee! at Bally's would also make for an interesting night, though be a little careful with that selection.

A great hybrid of the Las Vegas entertainment experience can be found in the Cirque du Soleil shows throughout the city. All are situated on an MGM Mirage property. Mystère (Treasure Island) is the original show, similar to the television specials. "O" (The Bellagio) is perhaps the most refined of the group--and also the most difficult to get tickets to. Zumanity, Another Side of Cirque Du Soleil (New York, New York) is by far the most sensuous. And KÁ (MGM Grand) incorporates a hybrid of martial arts, acrobatics and musical artistry. It is really humongous entertainment!

Of course, don't forget about the comedy and magic shows throughout the city. Las Vegas is where the big acts come to sharpen their skills. Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin, Dennis Miller, Drew Carey, David Spade, Jay Leno all visit Las Vegas regularly. These comedians come to prepare for television spots or create a buzz before a new movie or television show premieres. A few recommendations include: Blue Man Group (Mandalay Bay), Danny Gans (Mirage), Second City (Flamingo), Rita Rudner (New York, New York), David Brenner (Las Vegas Hilton), and the Improve Comedy Club (Harrah's Las Vegas).

If magic is what you crave, try Lance Burton (Monte Carlo), Pell & Teller (Rio), The Showgirls of Magic (Hotel San Remo) or Steve Wyrick (Aladdin). David Copperfield is also a regular guest. How about boxing also? National Finals Rodeo? If all else fails, you can always try the hotel lounge.

Haven't seen anything you like? Well, luckily Las Vegas has enough shows and an advanced entertainment industry to fill a newspaper--in fact, you can find comprehensive guides online and inside any Vegas casino. But give yourself some time, make a list, check it twice, and get ready for Las Vegas entertainment experience of a lifetime.
