First date success

Everything starts with the first date. It may develop into a life-long love or end up at a flirting stage. Even if you don't plan ahead and are not looking for a long-term relationship, you are secretly wishing that at the end your date will ask you, "When will I see you again?"

Do Not Run Late
One of the worst things you can do on your first date is to show up late and keep them waiting. By showing up late you represent yourself as an unreliable person. Nobody likes to sit around wondering whether they have been stood up. Leave early to arrive to your destination on time.

Do Not Talk About Your Ex
No mater how heart-broken you are, remember that your date is not your shrink. Talking about your ex will definitely hurt your date's feelings and scare this person away. Your date will most likely think that you have some psychological problems he/she doesn't want to handle.

Do Not Lie
First dates are all about getting to know the truth about each other. Every lie will be eventually revealed. Just one lie will lead to another, then another, and so on and you won't be able to keep track of all of them.

Do Not Reveal Your Matrimonial Plans
Before testing if your date is a good marriage material, remember that you have just met this person. Even if you have found the perfect destination for a honeymoon and plan to have three kids, don't mention it on the first date. Neither of you is ready for this conversation yet.

Do Not Talk On Your Cell Phone
By talking on your cell phone you are showing disrespect to your date. You are sending a message that your date is not worth your undivided attention and whomever you are talking to is more important thanhe/she. Using a cell phone during a date is impolite and is always a major turnoff.

Do Not Drink Too Much
There's nothing less appealing than a perfectly nice date that's drunk and making a fool out of themselves and you. Besides, getting drunk is unsafe, as you are loosing control over yourself.

Do Not Ignore Your Date
The key aspect to any successful date is for you to pay close attention to your date's every word. Making your date the center of your attention at all times will take you a long way.

Do Not Talk Too Much of Yourself
Date is not a competition, so don't rush to declare all your achievements. Let the other person talk. Don't interrupt. Show that you are interested.

Do Not Ask Too Many Questions
Don't turn the first date into a job interview. Let things unfold naturally. Don't embarrass your date by firing tons of pointed questions.
