There are some occasions and life situations, suitable for sending a gift with card or paying for gift delivery services. However, in most cases you have to present gifts by yourself. How to become proficient in gift giving etiquette, demonstrating everyone good form rules? Which words to say when making a present? Where to give over the present?

1. The first rule is to give a gift on the day of celebration or afterwards. Bad form of doing it in advance is connected with some prejudices.

2. Second rule concerns the right place to give a gift ' one should not do it in the anteroom (only flowers can be presented there). The gift should be given in the central room, where the lights are on and guests are sitting.

3. You should prepare for a speech to make while giving a gift. Don't be stingy of uttering pleasant words. Do not forget to smile!

4. Pay special attention to the rule, concerning gift price. Do not give very chic or extraordinary expensive gifts. You may drive the presentee into awkward and unpleasant position. If you are invited to the house full of different modern and costly things, try to avoid falling into despair or thinking 'Where can I get money for such an expensive gift'? You should rather give a rare and distinguished by its elegance gift, or say something smart about it to amaze your friend.  For example, presenting a toy model of Mercedes to your classmate, write in the card 'Let this car grow together with you'.

5. If you want to present a 'live' gift (kitten or puppy), you'd better have a preliminary agreement with all family members of the presentee.

6. If you present foodstuffs, then everything, according to etiquette, will be immediately put on a festive board by the hosts.

Remember that the main purpose of presenting gifts is not following traditions or etiquette rules, but giving a presentee certain joy and delight. One might as well say that 'to give is to live'. Share your feelings, and thus enrich your life spiritually.
