From a very young age, children, especially boys, become infatuated with the world of race car driving. The thought is scary for many parents who become frightened that their future racer will face the same fate as Dale Earnhardt and others before him. Rather than discourage your future racer, encourage him and when the time comes assist him in researching race car driving schools that will teach him everything he needs to know about race car driving. It's an exciting sport to be sure, but the driver needs to be fully prepared before entering that first race. Under no circumstances should the racetrack become a place to learn how to handle that car because at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour, there is no time to think, you must KNOW what to do. Race car driving is a sport that allows no chance for error because making an error can cost the driver his life or that of others on the track.

The young racer must also understand that he is not going to race in the major races like NASCAR before he has earned himself some medals in the minor league races. It is important for the future track star to understand that it's going to take several years of training and conditioning before he is ready to race in a competition. This is not like the world of the rock and roll singer who is able to become an overnight sensation with the right song and promoter; this is the world of race car driving, something that requires years of training and conditioning in order to be ready to become an icon in the world of auto races.

The most important part of the preparation for race car driving is choosing the proper race car driving school, the one that is going to work with the driver from the very beginning and see him through until the end. The school must be one that is going to assist the student with all the decisions that must be made once he gets to the track, but teach him BEFORE he hits the track. The would-be race car driver must learn before that first race what to do in the case of a potential crash, or if he should begin to go out of control as he enters a turn on the track. Once the driver makes it to NASCAR, Grand Prix, Indy 500, or other races for which he is qualified, there is no time to think what to do in an emergency situation, he must act and act quickly which may mean being able to exit the car quickly in case of a fiery crash. Given the speeds at which these races proceed, one should not be too quick to finish the driving training, but rather should take time to learn everything to perfection because the potential for needing it is going to be tremendously increased once the driver enters that track.
