I was in search of escaping the mundane journey to work every day by purchasing a new vehicle that would a lot more fun to drive. My commute is nearly one hour each way, a total of two hours minimum in the car five days a week. Considering the fact that I spend at least ten hours a week in my vehicle I decided that I would invest in a mode of transportation that would provide me with the fun I desired. A few coworkers and family members bought a 2005 ford mustang last year and all of them just rave about what an awesome sports car this vehicle is. Now, being a year later, the 2006 ford mustang was out and it was my dilemma to decide first if I wanted to spend that much money on a Ford Mustang and second, if I did, would it be a 2006 ford mustang or a 2005 ford mustang?

Once I did a little research, it was clear to me that I definitely wanted to buy a Ford Mustang. A sports car appealed to me a great deal as the climate in my state is very mild and we have very little snow or bad weather during our winter months. Due the fair weather, our roads are in great shape and the majority of my highway driving is on a brand new freeway that is as smooth as a baby’s bottom. The biggest factor for me when I decided that a sports car was the way to go was that it would be fun to drive, fast and comfortable as I would be spending a lot of time in the car. Although I was not thrilled with the gas mileage consideration, I had to weigh my desire for a cool sports car over the costs involved. One of my family members who purchased a 2005 ford mustang last year allowed me to borrow theirs for a weekend. I drove the route to my job, which is mainly highway and then tooled around the city a lot to get a good feel for the car. I was very impressed within the first few minutes with how well the car handled and how smooth it was on the highway. I returned the 2005 ford mustang on Sunday and on Monday after work went straight to a Ford Dealer in town.

The local Ford deal had a beautiful, white 2006 ford mustang that I almost immediately fell in love with. I had to be careful though to not get overly excited, as money was a consideration. One of the coworkers I knew who had a 2005 ford mustang was selling it in a few months to buy a new larger vehicle. He needed the extra room for his family and recently found out his wife was pregnant again so the bigger car needed to happen sooner than later. This could be a great opportunity for me as far as saving a little money goes, but the more I looked at that 2006 ford mustang, the more I wanted it. The salesman began to explain the upgrades that had been made to the 2006 ford mustang, and although they seemed somewhat minor, I could not help but think that the difference in a monthly payment would not be that huge and having the newest model would be really nice.

I decided on the 2006 ford mustang, the white one, and arranged to purchase it. I drove it home a few days later and was absolutely thrilled. Now spending ten hours or more a week in my vehicle did not seem so bad, in fact, rather than dreading the drive each day, I was looking forward to it.
