For example to make a regular sweater you will need about 500 grams of woolen yarn. There are many different yarn manufactures these days, so it can be hard to choose the trade mark of yarn for your hobby. If you are just a beginner at yarn knitting, then probably yarn of any producer will do. And later you will learn to differ quality of yarn and will be able to make just the right choice of yarn manufacturer. And as long as yarn is made of regular natural fibers it is really easy to dye color by yourself.
So for your hobby you can use hand dyed yarn and make your fabrics more colorful and attractive. And as for the patterns for your yarn knitting everything is also very simple. And it is not a problem, if you do not have artistic skills because there are many different ready made knitting patterns with detailed descriptions.
