Women's singles in tennis are the women who plays one against the other according to previously scheduled pairs. Every lady is an opponent to each other, so even if both of tennis players are from the same country it is very easy to happen that they will have to play in one game. This happens many times especially in big tennis.

     There was a tournament of Roland Garos in 2004 when Kim Clijsters and Justin Henin Arden were playing against each other in the final of this grand Slam tournament. According to the interview such things happened to them already several times before but not in finals. The same thing happened when Maria Sharapova had to perform against Nadejda Petrova in quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2005. Maria Sharapova lost.      In general, if the women tennis player takes part in singles it does not mean that they can not take part in doubles or even mixed doubles tournaments during the tournament of Grand Slam. There is even the Grand Slam classification (the hardest ever combination of titles during the tournaments) which is called Grand "Boxed Set". To get it, one should take part not only in women's singles in tennis, but also in women`s doubles, and mixed doubles accordingly to one's gender. And these entire best titles a tennis player have to get during all the tournaments in one year. It is almost impossible to do, but even if there is no Grand "Boxed Set" there is the Career "Boxed Set" which is the same titles but during some period of time meaning more than one consecutive year.

     The fact that one tennis woman is the owner of this wonderful title shows that even if the men and women are in different categories it is quite evident that women`s tennis progresses with big steps along with women's singles, as the youngest woman tennis player is at about 17 when the youngest tennis player in men`s singles is already19.

     The owner of Career "Boxed Set" title is Margaret Smith Court who is the greatest female tennis player on earth. She had been one of the first women in women's singles in tennis took part in all the tennis optional tournaments (doubled , mixed doubled and so on) and led all today's players to the freedom of right in sports. Even if there was a gender discrimination during the period of Margaret Smith Court, she succeeded.
