The history of cannabis consumption methods began a long time ago. It was considered to be the best medicine and anesthetic and for some time people could smoke it as openly as if they drank a beer or eat a cough-drops. But today cannabis consumption is still an open question. It is legalized by parliaments of several countries, but most governments suppose that there is cannabis addiction and any cannabis consumption methods should be banned.
The question is whether marijuana is addictive. It is surely a psychoactive drug and it has analgesic action. They say that cannabis helps people when they feel sick after cancer chemotherapy, it excites appetite of people ill with AISD, and it also helps people suffering from intracranial pressure cause of glaucoma. Here the consumption methods are very important. Smoking a hit off a joint helps faster as they say that inhalation lets active elements get the ill region more quickly, like after taking intravenous anesthesia.
There are other consumption methods of cannabis like oral consumption of pills, which contain marijuana active elements, but it is able to bring effect only in an hour. And still it is hard to tell exactly, whether cannabis is the only medicine that can help ill people in such situations. Side effect of marijuana consumption is that it can cause lapse of memory of short duration. And as the result a person who got cannabis as a remedy may forget about other vitally important for him or her medicines. Besides, modern medicine is developed enough to find other ways to help patients without a risk of addiction and harm to their health.
As for not-medical cannabis consumption it is a real corner-stone. People who are for legalizing marijuana consumption tell that there is not cannabis addiction. They say people who smoke cannabis even every day for several years can easily give it up without grave consequences. They also deny "the gateway theory". The gist of the theory is that people who smoke marijuana usually go father and later take stronger drugs which surely are additive.
This theory is confirmed by statistics of many countries. People who begin with cannabis later switch to cocaine and heroin. On the other hand, there is indeed other statistics that some people manage to give up cannabis smoking without problems, but it seems like exception, but not the rule.
So, we are inclined to think that our governments are right in their firm position on cannabis consumption methods. The ban on smoking marijuana should exist till scientists are able to say for sure, whether cannabis is addictive or not. Till that we should forbid our children take a risk and experiment with their own health. We should teach our children to live through difficult situation with clear mind and fight with problems looking directly in eyes of their enemies.
We should teach them how to remain optimistic when it seems to be impossible. We should show them where to get the energy, when no strength is left. And may be then our children will decide not to legalize cannabis consumption because for them there will be no need in it.
