Vegetarian practice provides Niagara of health benefits

Vegetarian practice includes the decision not to eat meat (poultry and beef), their by-products and can exclude eggs and dairy from the daily ration. It is a proved fact that common vegetarian practice is able to promote a better health and longer life expectancy. But at the same time scientists say that the same results are achieved by people who have high-social economic taste, do not smoke and eat enough green vegetables and fresh fruit.

Vegetarian practice is the name for the practice of not consuming meat, including poultry and beef or their by-products with or without the use of eggs and dairy products. The exclusion can also extend to the products which are derived from animal carcasses, such as cochineal, rennet, gelatin, tallow and lard. Some vegetarians refuse wearing the goods, the production of which entails the death of the animal, such as fur, feather, silk and leather. There are a lot of variations of vegetarianism. Some representatives can consume eggs and dairy products. Veganism is a stricter form of vegetarianism and fruitarianism is the strictest. Vegetarian practice is believed to prolong the life expectancy. Life expectancy can be considered the most vivid factor of health. Recent studies have shown that the life expectancy of people with vegetarian practice is longer than with the general population. But it is necessary to note that it has been mentioned that most of vegetarians have high socio-economic status that is associated with a healthier way of life in regard of exercise, alcohol, smoking and 'better diet'. The term 'better diet' does not mean in this case the decision not to eat meat but the increased intake of green vegetables and fresh fruit. When these factors have been discovered, a question about the use of vegetarian practice alone for extending life expectancy popped up. Some British studies have shown that the rate of mortality is the lowest with fish eaters, followed by occasional meat eaters and vegetarians, which are followed by regular meat eaters and vegans. But it does not mean that fish is the healthiest food. Nevertheless, the studies have shown that the British who follow vegetarian practice have lower mortality if compared to the mortality of the general population. Their death rates can be compared to the ones of non-vegetarians who have high socio-economic status, do not smoke and keep to the diet which is other than meat and fish avoidance. It is a proved fact that longevity and health are influenced by different life choices, such as alcohol, smoking and exercise. Nevertheless, scientists often fail to show that forgoing meat is an independent contribution to people's life expectancy. Another claim ascribed to the common vegetarian practice is that the risk of heart diseases is lower with vegetarians. The situation with heart diseases is similar to the one of mortality rates. A lot of studies also claim that vegetarians suffer less from the ischemic heart disease. But there is no exact proof to that. It is interesting to know that the mortality rate of occasional meat-eaters is the same as of those who do not eat meat at all. At the same time vegans and vegetarians claim their diet is healthy while the diet including meat and fish is not full vegetarian practice and unhealthy diet. As for scientists, they say that these groups of vegetarians divert people's attention from the factors that are scientifically proven. The optimal life style, according to them, includes sufficient intake of green vegetables and fresh fruit, not smoking and moderate alcohol intake.
