What herb of grace is used for?

For ages rue herb (which is also called "herb of grace") had its place in medical practice - people tried to cure a great number of diseases with this herb. It was (and in fact still is) also used in cookery as a kitchen herb because of its really strong aroma and bitter taste. These days herb of grace is mostly used as a kitchen herb or as a decorative plant in gardens.
