Traditional surrogacy procedureIn general, new reproductive technologies are an equation with several unknown quantities. On the one hand, NRT allow parents to overcome an illness of barrenness, because we don't neglect them; on the other hand, development of modern biomedical technologies goes in such seven-mile steps, that we have not time to comprehend, in what spiritual, moral, and social consequences may result from their use. Therefore, for today the surrogacy, as well as reproductive technologies, as a whole, has a mass of problems: legal, religious, moral-ethical and others.
The traditional surrogacy, or gestational surrogacy, is a unique chance to have the child for women who have suffered from the previous operative interventions at times. So, the absence of a uterus can be caused by its removal, for example, because of a myoma, intrapartum hemorrhage, etc. Quite often it is necessary to think about a surrogate mother to women with a deformation of the uterus, and also in case of heavy diseases which will interfere with a favorable outcome of pregnancy. Besides, there is a contingent of women to whom doctors many times have transferred good embryos to a uterus. And everything proved useless. In many countries of the world, this program is forbidden, in particular, on religious reasons.
Apparently, in this situation several people are involved: the genetic parents and surrogate mother relationships. The surrogacy mother can have a family, and obligations to the relatives. Therefore, in spite of the fact that the parties in writing express the consent to carrying out of the procedure, this decision can be changed. And, the law supposes similar succession of events. It happens, that "customers" have decided not to have the common child and the pregnancy achieved in their interests is interrupted.
One more important point consists that it is difficult to find a really healthy woman. On statistics, approximately half of the surrogate mothers has, though also insignificant, but all the same problems with health. Unfortunately, it is impossible to exclude completely an aggravation of the revealed chronic pathology, and even occurrences of new diseases on a background of falling of immunity at pregnancy.
In accordance with statistics, the probability of pregnancy beginning with the help of traditional surrogacy remains the same as usual in Vitro Fertilization, or even increases. That is, about 30 % and more. It is noticed, that embryos being established in a uterus of the surrogate mother is much higher, because multiple births occur very frequently. Accordingly, such a pregnancy concerns a high risk. As it is strange, but out of healthy surrogate mums, there is a chance of abdominal pregnancy occurrence (2 %).
Taking into account that "customers" of surrogate mothers services are people doomed to be absolutely childless, this program really solves very significant social problems. These babies are very much waited for, and liked.
Thus, everyone, who has decided to get the baby with the help of surrogacy, should choose gestational or traditional surrogacy. Traditional surrogacy is a surrogacy within the family.
