The Sexual Addiction SymptomsSexual addiction symptoms can be found in people of different sex and age. There is a pubertal or youthful hypersexuality which focuses psyche on addiction to sexual intercourse, and sexual and erotic impressions and imaginations followed by simultaneous erection, often pollution and other demonstrations of sexual addiction. Here the sexual addiction symptoms are: a special strong feeling in genitals (the feeling of blood repletion and size enlarging) and their higher sensitiveness; sometimes the feeling of fever, tickling, the overfill of urinary bladder, often urination with pain down the stomach.
Sexual addicted women are multiorgasmic, i.e. able to experience not one but several powerful orgasms. With more complicated cases the orgasm occurs at the very beginning of erogenic zones stimulation, or even without it, while still feeling intense excitation; it lasts up to an hour or longer, getting an undulating character; it may be caused by any kind of stimulation (sexual intercourse, petting, masturbation), erotic dreams and even non-adequate irritants.
Satisfaction lasts not long or is not felt at all. In this situation sexual addiction symptoms are intensified with every orgasm and occurs in the form of a crisis. Sexual addiction in climax period is related to hormonal abnormalities and met often with women who broke their sexual purity very early.
Pathologic sexual addiction with men is satyriasis (satires were forest gods in the ancient Greek mythology who were pictured lustful and half drunk), with women - nymphomania (nymphs were goddesses of nature in the ancient Greek mythology).
The reasons for neurotic hypersexuality are: inferiority complex and a lack of faith in one's sexual abilities. All this causes compensation of one's own weakness, i.e. striving for more and more "victories."
In extraordinary situations, sexual addiction may result in long-termed and painful erections influenced by even the least erotic irritants. To fully satisfy sexual addiction, the usual sexual intercourses with one or several sexual partners are not enough; here sexual deviations and sexual perversions may often occur.
Excessive sexual addiction finds the outlet in pathologic masturbations or sexual orgies. It depends on imaginations about unusual sexual intercourse provoked by unusual (even strange) sexual object (animals, children, corpse). A person liable to sexual perversions is fully preoccupied with thoughts of goal achievement, forgetting about moral behaviour and possible responsibility before the law. All other kinds of sexual activity loses any sense for him/her.
Sexual perversions happen more often to men than women. They may be the result of mental diseases or they develop with psychopathic personalities influenced by various psychogenic or environmental factors. The great role is played by psychic traumas from childhood, wrong education (including sexual one), early sexual intercourses (including rape), etc.
Along with this sometimes one can meet quite normal men and women with strong and early sexual addiction symptoms who experience the need of sexual intercourse. The boundary between extreme variations of the norm and pathology is quite relative in this case.
