Nevertheless, this equipment serves to impress the viewers and the judges. However, there are some rules and limits in using these accessories.

The history of foundation and development of the synchronized swimming is very interesting. Especially the fact that the first participants of competition (1890, Berlin) on this kind of sport were the men. However, the women came forward and in 1948 in Canada routines of synchronized swimming became a section of National Championships and an exhibition sport at Olympic Games.

There are two competition events. Each of them includes technical and free routines. These events are fulfilling to music. The technical routine is accomplished according to fixed order while the free routine - without any limitation on music as well as on choreography.

From the athletes is required a high level of flexibility, gracefulness and skillfulness. There must be original type of dance and the appearance of effortless presentation. Colorful and tasteful swimsuites not only give an additional effect on spectators but are a part of the artistic impression of the routine. Colorful, being in harmony with swim costume and tasteful decorated the swim hair may have some influence on the results of competitions as the style of presentation is one of the components required for synchronized swimming. The swimmers must have the set of swimsuits for each routine.

Moreover, there are special regulations regarding to the image and costumes. Apart from tastefulness swimsuits must not be too short or too long. Only small head decorations are admitted by the rules. Very often the suits for synchronized swimming competitions are quite expensive.

The athletes are required to bring the image of their performance to the spectators. What is more the image and costumes must harmonize with the performed routine.

There are also regulated requirements for swimming pools, where competitions in synchronized swimming are held. The pool must be at least 20 by 30 meters with the 3 meters of deep on the square (12 by 12 meters).

In synchronized swimming the athletes keep their eyes open underwater. In such a way they can see the other swimmers, what help them move correctly in their routine.

The wrong conclusion can be drown, that this kind of competitions is easy enough to perform, but in reality the athletes must put a lot of the efforts and in the same time their moving must look as effortless as possible.

In synchronized swimming athlete must be able to perform difficult movements such as boosts, rockets, and thrusts. Therefore, for the competitions of synchronized swimming force, energy, dynamism, flexibility, gracefulness, facility and artistry are needed. The other important point is to make a certain image and be able to bring it to audience.
