Michael Moore was born in Michgan and studied journalistic in The University of Flint. In the university he started working in the journal as an editor. But the "Bowling for Columbine" became a real hit for him. The movie discussed the issue of freedom in America in general and freedom of holding weapons. The accident in Columbine high school got so much publicity that every American family knew about the shooting in the school. Policies in many schools were changed after the accident. Michael Moore shoot his movie after a while, so it gave a new wave of emotions to the accident. In his movie Michael Moore showed, how teenagers can handle guns and what they can do to other peoples' lives. The movie addressed to every single family in the United States and Canada, and parents of the whole world as well. The "Bowling for Columbine" made Michael Moore one of the most famous documentary filmmakers in the world and brought him an Oscar award. But the controversial personality of Michael Moore showed even during the Oscar award, where he from the stage expressed his thoughts about the situation in Iraq and the acting of the American president.
The other movie by Michel Moore that shook the world was "Fharenheit 9/11". All world was aware of the attack on the United States that happened on the 11th of September in 2002. There were a lot of documentary films made about this accident. But only Michael Moore managed to put so many feelings into his movie, and only his movie became a sensation.
In the "Fharenheit 9/11" movie Michael Moore managed to deride and subject to criticism president George Bush and american politicians' policy and personality. Michael Moore became famous, because he was able to say in public what everybody else thought, but didn't dare to say.
For sure the world needs such documentary filmmakers as Michael Moore. News is no longer enough for people to know the real information about what's happening in the world. So it's the job for documentary filmmakers to tell us the truth.
