Tennis elbow curing is considered to be the result of neglected attitude towards pain in the elbow, which is in its turn caused by repetitive movements during tennis playing. These movements cause small tears inside the muscles responsible for this movement and cause the inflammation and tenderness of this part of outer elbow. Ice can help the person to reduce pain for some time; it's necessary to apply it to the appropriate place for not less than 10 minutes.
Tennis elbow (or Lateral Epicondylitis) is referred to be disease caused by the inflammation in the outer part of human elbow. The wrist extensors are the muscles that are being damaged most of all. As a result of this inflammation, the painful tenderness can be felt with touch. It starts influencing the normal elbow function. That is why the person cannot play tennis as much as he or she used to do before.
It's necessary to know that wrist extensors are the muscles pulling the elbow backwards. They require tennis elbow curing. It usually passes with stopping or limiting activities. The most famous medicine to take away the pain is non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. But they do not accomplish tennis elbow curing process. They are considered to be a kind of painkillers for a short period of time. Within a couple of months the person is likely to get used to them, that is why there must be different kinds of drugs all the time, which make the process of recovery less long and less painful.
Sometimes, the disease itself can also be connected with bone of the elbow, so that would make it more difficult and the tennis elbow curing would have to be more intense and fast. There are no exact treatments of tennis elbow. As it has already been mentioned stopping and limiting activities and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are the part of tennis elbow curing.
With the signs of coming pain it's better to stop playing tennis. In order to let the small tears (which actually cause the inflammation in the elbow in the muscles) disappear the person can apply some ice on the elbow to cool it for some time and let it go without other medications usage.
I must remind that there might be several reasons for the situation when pain does not disappear: the person either keeps playing or does the same muscle movements which does not help with muscle tears but enlarges them or the disease is already on the next level of development. In this situation the way to get rid of pain at least for some time is to use some painkillers but not too strong ones. Ibuprofen or aspirin usually works well for it. After getting some of these medicine the person can start warming up by using massage movements and making an accent to particular elbow area.
Be aware that tennis elbow curing process is a slow process where there can be no hurry. Painkillers should be used only in case of emergency. Massaging and heating the elbow during its rest several times a day would make the blood flow faster and provide an opportunity for quicker healing. For those who continue playing tennis it is better to buy an elbow brace to keep the hand at least somehow protect. In case of emergency it is better to put the hand in the ice and contact the doctor as there can be some serious tears in the muscle and there is a need in accurate doctor's examining of the patient's elbow.
In any case the best curing is not doing anything with injured hand and elbow trying to use it sparingly. Repetitive movements whether they are the exercises or some other actions are forbidden as this repetitiveness might make the muscles struggle the same way for a number of times. This does not allow the elbow muscles relax and heal the tears.
By the way, new braces of all the sizes can be a good solving matter for the time of active work. The person can apply it during two consecutive business days for a better result.
