Teen's Violence - More Than Just a Hormone Problem

A teen's violence problem has acquired acute importance over the last few years. The reason for this is far from being mysterious. The actions of teenagers are becoming more and more aggressive and they present an imminent threat to the lives of those surrounding them. Violence at school and violence at home have become constituent elements of the lives of an alarming percentage of teens.

There is a good reason for the majority of teenagers and their parents being concerned about teen violence. It is objective reality that teen's violence has enrooted deeply in the public consciousness as the plague of contemporary world. When you think about it, it is not unnatural that violence at school and violence at home is haunting our adolescents. The tremendous flood of television programs and movies full of crime and death has instilled into the fragile minds of youths the erroneous perception of violence as something inevitable.

Their reaction is quite predictable. In order not to suffer from the expressions of violence, they start to resort to it themselves. "Attack is the best protection" - this is the underlying principle of teen's violence. Practice shows that teen violence is gradually increasing and more and more teenagers commit various violent acts. It stands to reason that these actions directed for the most part against other teenagers should not be countenanced without retribution. Severe punishment of the offenders at the first manifestation of teen violence should be made a priority of school officials.

This way potential aggressors will have a clear understanding of the negative consequences that their expression of violence is sure to entail. Besides, harsh punitive methods will definitely enhance the protection of potential victims of teen violence. The mass media tends to elucidate only the cases of mass shootings, when many people fall victims to a single aggressor or a small group of them. From this lack of extensive coverage of regular manifestations of teen's violence, fallacious conclusion can be drawn about the decrease in it.

However, unfortunately, it is not true. Our everyday life abounds is examples of teen's violence. For instance, bullying, threatening, fighting and so forth are sheer and clear consequences of parents shutting their eyes to the primary manifestations of aggression in their children. It is of vital importance that the imminent threat that teen's violence presents to the society should not be underestimated. Certain urgent measures should be taken in order to promote the lowering in the expression of teen violence. It appears sensible to detect potential aggressors.

The signs of teen depression may result into the desire to resort to violence with a view to self-expression. From this statement it is understood that first and foremost teen depression is to be dealt with.
